Director of Business Development
Job Location: Orlando Technology Center

Reports To: Sr. Vice President of Business Development and Technology

Job Overview:
Responsible for generating new business in the coatings, dispersions industrial markets using Asbury’s carbonaceous materials (graphite, graphene, coke, etc.)
Roles & Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement the overall growth strategy for the C&D market.
- Work side by side with Asbury sales to drive new account growth
- Identify new markets and new product opportunities for growth
- Own the technical success of customer trials, develop protocol, trial plans, data gathering to validate Asbury’s value proposition in the market.
- Develop new coatings and dispersions opportunities in the US and EU industrial markets (forging, casting, etc.)
- Ability to find new opportunities for coatings and dispersions outside of core Asbury industrial business.
- Ability to analyze markets and develop business cases from customer and market information.
- Develop strategic relationships with partners in industry that allow for growth of Asbury business.
- Visit existing and new customers and trade shows to provide opportunities for Asbury to act on.
- Collaboration with technology development teams to quickly develop new chemical solutions for the targeted market segments.
Preferred Experience/skills:
Qualifications include:
- BS or MS in materials science, chemical engineering or similar
- MBA or other business education credential preferred.
- 10-15 years of industry experience in the coatings and dispersions US and EU markets
- Strong technical presentation skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A team-oriented, collaborative work style.
- Initiative and the ability to work independently and make autonomous decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience collaborating and partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Must be willing to travel as required.
- Strong computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office.
Working conditions
Travel expectations are >50% for this position.
